STEM on Track

We are delighted to be a partner school for the STEM on Track programme

We are very grateful to our generous sponsors and partners who have supported the build, the driver training and our participation in the national race series.

STEM On Track is a national challenge for KS3 and KS4 students, where young people build their own racing karts, learn the STEM theory behind it and race against other competing schools. The kart comes in its components parts in a large crate and students work to build the kart following the online assembly videos.

It has been a huge success since its launch at The Edge in 2025 and has had a fantastic engagement impact for the young people on our innovative 1-term short-stay package called CONNECT Programme. Each cohort of CONNECT students assemble the car, complete a STEM progress booklet and then drive the kart as the outcome.

The ultimate goal each year is the participation in the track test day to ensure our kart, drivers and support team are ready, followed by the National race Series at Whilton Mill Circuit nr Daventry, alongside another 90 potential schools Northampton
